About the Data

RangerPitch reads Recreation.gov RIDB records and prints a sentence only when the fields in that sentence are present.

These pages use the RIDB full export dated October 20, 2026.

RIDB facility records in this export have no elevation, so the 1,000 ft NOAA station test cannot be applied. Weather by Month is omitted.

No National Park Service alert feed was read for this build, so no alert text is shown.

Search engines can index these pages.

The REST API was not used for these figures. They come from the public RIDB full export.

How each number is computed

  • We count every RIDB campsite record except those whose type includes "MANAGEMENT."
  • Maximum vehicle length is the largest Max Vehicle Length value above zero on any campsite. We treat zero and blank values as missing and don't show them.
  • Maximum RV length uses the same value, but only on campsites that also list RV or RV/MOTORHOME as permitted equipment with a length above zero.
  • The map plots each campsite at its RIDB coordinates. Campsites without coordinates don't appear on the map.
  • Distances are straight-line (great-circle) miles between the campgrounds' RIDB coordinates, not driving distances.
  • We show Weather by Month only when a NOAA 1991–2020 Climate Normals station is within 25 miles of the campground and within 1,000 feet of its elevation.
  • Some recreation-area records swap the state and ZIP code fields. When the state field holds a ZIP code and the postal-code field holds two letters, we use the two letters as the state.
  • We don't copy RIDB's facility descriptions or fee text.
  • We don't use Recreation.gov photos or show live site availability.
